With technology surrounding us on a daily basis, it’s really hard to keep up on absolutely EVERYTHING. Thankfully, there are really useful apps out there to help us through daily life. So, without any intent to speak for digital natives, millennials or any other descriptive label you care to apply to me, I thought I’d share some of my favorite iPhone apps that help keep my life together and organized, (to some extent anyway.) I’ve included a few apps that make great PR tools, and of course, some are just for fun.
- Camera+ has better photo image manipulation than any other app I have found. Plus the image doesn’t automatically go into a feed so you have the ability to perfect the image that you wish to share with the world.
- Zite. I love Zite because you are able to choose the categories you are interested in, food, fashion, social media, top stories, etc. In the morning I run through it to see what stories I have missed and what is trending. This app makes it easy to share as well via multiple social media platforms.
- Map My Run is the best! It tracks your run, no matter where you are, which is great, especially in a place like Vermont where much of the trails are secluded. It even interrupts you to tell you your pace per mile. Which is great when you are having a speedy day, but not very encouraging when your run is the pace of a walk.
- FB & Twitter, need I say more?
- Hootsuite is a must-have if you’re managing multiple social media accounts/platforms.
- Pandora is terrific when when your music library gets boring.
- WhiteNoise. I don’t know about you, but I can’t sleep without a fan on, so this is 100% necessary when I travel. (Make sure your battery is fully charged though, it drains after broadcasting about 8 hours of ocean waves…).
- Wine Notes. I must admit I haven’t used this one just yet, but I keep meaning to. It would really help me from sitting at the wine shop thinking “hmmmm was it this bottle that begins with an N or this bottle that has a dark pink label?”
- Quick Tip, because numbers aren’t my thing. Don’t judge me.
- Flixster – for a rainy day when I want to go to the movies, plus it tells you when the new release DVDs come out (It’s every Tuesday in case anyone was wondering).
- Epicurious is great recipes, of course! Easy to find by ingredient and more. The best part about this app is when you find a recipe you like you click + or add to shopping cart and it puts all the ingredients you need to buy in a list by category AND you can check them off as you go. I’m a sucker for checklists. I am one of those people that will write something on my to-do list after I have completed the task, just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off.
- Chess & Words With Friends – What? Hey, a girl’s gotta have a little fun.
I am always on the lookout for great apps. Feel free to share your favorites below!
